The Cornell campus decreased greenhouse gas emissions by 30% since 2008
Cornell has a commitment to eliminate or offset net carbon emissions from our Ithaca campus, but our goal is much more ambitious than one focused on our own campus. We seek to have global impact-through the work we do in disciplines in which we excel, and by using our own campus and region as a "living laboratory" for the initiatives we pursue. The blueprint for this goal is our award-winning Climate Action Plan (CAP). The CAP strategies bring together students, faculty, and staff on matters of research, education, stewardship and outreach, fostering a sense of community and preparedness for the future. As a result of the strategies put forth in the CAP campus greenhouse gas emissions have decreased by 30%.
