The Cornell campus decreased greenhouse gas emissions by 32% since 2008
The blueprint for this goal is our award-winning Climate Action Plan (CAP). The CAP’s strategies bring together students, faculty, and staff on matters of research, education, stewardship and outreach. As a result of the strategies put forth in the CAP campus greenhouse gas emissions have decreased by 25%. The 2011 update of the CAP examines this and other successes, and outlines where continued effort will be placed. As current and future sustainability efforts move forward on campus, Cornell works not only to execute the CAP effectively and achieve its intended results, but also works to further integrate students, faculty and staff into climate change initiatives to foster a sense of community and preparedness for the future.
