Program Director Sought for Solar Tompkins’ New “HeatSmart Tompkins” Initiative

Incredible opportunity for someone with excellent leadership and communication skills, and some experience in the clean energy or smart building sector...

The Solar Tompkins Board of Directors is conducting a search for a qualified and talented individual to hire as Program Director for this year’s HeatSmart Tompkins program. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and participate in a year-long effort to spur at least 100 homes within Tompkins County to convert to heat pump technologies and/or undertake building efficiency measures through an effective program that optimizes the customer experience, simplifies what can otherwise be a complex set of decisions, and reduces costs. These technologies are affordable for an increasing percentage of homeowners, and if financed, often require no upfront investment and cost less than families are paying now.

The director’s contract position will run from approximately July 13, 2015 – July 15, 2016. The Program Director will be directly involved with the Solar Tompkins Board in shaping the program to reach those goals, and will be in charge of the day-to-day operation and management of the program. If successful, Solar Tompkins anticipates sponsoring a second larger version of this program in 2016.
