Cornell’s commitment to sustainability is a large part of campus life, and for new students, it is apparent as soon as they get to campus for Orientation. These five days and five nights are hosts to dozens of events and activities to welcome them to Cornell.

Orientaiton events have zero landfill goal; compost bag "everything goes in here"
The Orientation Steering Committee shows how easy composting can be when everything goes into one bag!

The Orientation Steering Committee and the Campus Sustainability Office work with dozens of student volunteers to make Orientation as green as possible. From helping new students and their families recycle on Move In Day and educating new students about composting at events, to showing off all the opportunities students have to get involved and live sustainably at Green Fair, sustainability shines during Orientation.
