Local and Regional Food Systems Guide
An index of initiatives and resources related to local and regional food systems...
One of Cornell’s Library Resources is the Local and Regional Food Systems Guide (LRFSG), an index of initiatives and resources related to local and regional food systems. The guide includes resources from the growing body of research and information related to food systems and their role in the health and well being of individuals, communities, regions and nations. The guide’s resources address issues such as nutrition and health, food safety, food security, economics, environmental presentation, civic vitality, energy and agriculture.
LRFSG also includes initiatives that focus on supporting local and regional food production, processing, distribution and consumption, and the cultural infrastructure necessary to sustain these systems. Also included in the guide are specific resources and programs that have been created to assist growers, community developers, institutions, businesses, educators, researchers and consumers in creating stronger, more resilient local and regional supply chains, as well as help them strengthen relationships between farm and plate.
