Greenhouse Best Management Practices
Cornell’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences maintains a list of established best practices to achieve sustainable management of water, pesticides and nutrients throughout the many teaching and research greenhouses on campus. Best practices are continuously updated and revised by an interdisciplinary Greenhouse BMP Committee.
The Greenhouse BMPs assume all federal, state, and local regulations as well as Cornell’s policies as the operational baselines while seeking to go above and beyond these legal and institutional requirements.
The BMP list covers all aspects of greenhouse operations in detail, including pesticide and fertilizer storage, nutrient management, pest and weed control, (interior and exterior) composting, maintenance, renovation and new construction.
