Farm to Cornell

Farm to Cornell evolved out of expressed student interest to promote sustainable agriculture...

Farm to Cornell is a student organization that unites students over local foods and promotes sustainable agriculture and local food systems at our University. The organization collaborates with Cornell Dining and other student groups to use more local and sustainable foods throughout our campus. Student members also educate our campus community about food and agricultural issues through hosting a variety of events and social activities such as potlucks, visits to the Ithaca Farmers Market and more. Some of the club’s most recent efforts included organizing the Farmer’s Market at Cornell, featuring seasonal and locally sourced foods for our campus community to enjoy. The group generally works to strengthen the connection between food production and consumption by addressing the environmental, economic, social and personal benefits of eating locally, and raise awareness of the critical connections between land, farming, health and community.
