Improving the workplace for people with disabilities through research and action...

"We help make possible the full participation of people with disabilities in the workplace, the community, and society." - Susanne M. Bruyère, Director

Cornell’s Yang-Tan Institute (YTI) conducts research and provides continuing education and technical assistance on various aspects of disability in the workplace. YTI works to advance knowledge, policies and practices that enhance the opportunities of people with disabilities through projects, training, technical assistance, and research in topic areas such as community inclusion, disability statistics, disability benefits, workforce development, and educational achievement. YTI’s activities in these areas include publishing scholarly articles, developing training materials, conducting training sessions domestically and internationally, and offering technical assistance on an array of disability-related issues. The Institute has assisted companies, labor organizations, government agencies, schools and communities domestically and abroad in accommodating and integrating individuals with disabilities through consulting with policy makers, disability advocates and rehabilitation program professionals.
