Cornell Cooperative Extension Energy & Climate Change Team

Investing in Energy and Climate Change Education for Community Change...

The Cooperative Extension Energy and Climate Change Team is recognized throughout the state of New York as the foremost resource for credible research on energy efficiency, climate change and alternative energy strategies. The Team works to provide New York residents, community leaders, businesses, and organizations access to information that helps them understand the energy issues as well as relevant policies, mitigation strategies with alternative energy options, and other cost-saving measures.

CCE established the Climate Change Team in 2010 as a new initiative to expand and strengthen Cornell’s energy and climate change programming and improve its statewide outreach efforts. Some of the team’s key priorities they plan to to address through its programming are residential energy conservation, agriculture and energy, and community and youth engagement in climate change issues. The team focuses its efforts on training CCE educators throughout the state, providing information resources for municipalities, engaging the agricultural community and youth, and ensuring climate change is effectively incorporated into existing programming.
