Utilities Complex
Everybody on campus plays a part in our sustainability. We each can strive to make a difference in our own areas of campus. Leading the way are a few groups of staff members who go above and beyond to incorporate sustainability into the way they work here at Cornell. Take a look at the things that they're doing and think about how sustainability might apply in your department. Don't hesitate to get in touch with these people, and get involved!
Campus Life Green Team
Kyoto Task Team
Green Purchasing Task Force
Green Building Oversight Committee
Facilities Services Sustainable Computing Committee
Cornell Dining Local Foods Advisory Council
Cornell Bicycle and Pedestrian Traffic Safety Committee
While the above organizations are separate working groups, there are many other units at Cornell that are engaged in efforts for sustainability in their everyday operations. They are certainly not the only ones, but the following units deserve recognition for their efforts.
Grounds Department, Recycling, and Solid Waste
Cornell Farm Services
Cornell Plantations
Campus Planning Office
The Statler Hotel
Mann Library
Big Red Barn Graduate & Professional Student Center
What is your unit or department doing to make Cornell a more sustainable place? Tell us your stories!
Many of the above efforts are organized in conjunction with Cornell's sustainability coordinator, based in the Office of Environmental Compliance and Sustainability (ECOS).
