Cornell is committed to measuring and reducing greenhouse gas emissions related to campus operations. The Cornell Climate Action Plan provides a roadmap to completely eliminate net carbon emissions from the Ithaca campus by 2050—and achieve climate neutrality. Annual greenhouse gas reporting will be submitted to the Presidents Climate Commitment and EPA.
Climate Action Plan
The award-winning Climate Action Plan (CAP) brings together campus stewardship, research, teaching, and outreach programs. In two short years, Cornell reduced its campus greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent through smart investment in facilities and energy efficiency. The 2011 Climate Action Plan Update highlights these recent successes and identifies areas for continued effort. On the Presidents Climate Commitment website you can view plans from other universities. Click here.
