The 2013 Student Cornell University Partners in Sustainability Award (CUPSA) was presented to Rebecca Macies ’14 at the President Sustainable Campus Committee Annual Summit on November 6. Macies was granted this award for her work in promoting sustainability throughout campus; specifically, she helps to organize sustainable events on campus, such as New Student Orientation, Homecoming, Campus Sustainability Day, and Spring Fest. As student coordinator for the Campus Sustainability Office, she ensures that these events are carried out in a sustainable manner by collaborating with many different campus groups to include such efforts as compost monitoring and educational activities as part of these larger events. Rebecca is also involved in the campus organizations KyotoNow and Greeks Go Green. Congratulations, Rebecca, on your commitment to environmental health and your hard work in ensuring that many Cornell events are run sustainably!
