On WHCU 870, Bert Bland, Senior Director of Energy and Sustainability at Cornell, discussed details about a new study Cornell will be conducting. The study will examine the entirety of Cayuga Lake, in an effort to determine the effect of the Cayuga Lake Modeling Project on phosphorus levels in the lake. The study was suggested after recent concerns about increased phosphorus levels in the lake, which can promote algae growth and could lead to a decrease in the clarity of water and quality of aquatic organisms.
