New Sustainability Education Resource
Resources for faculty across all academic topics to incorporate sustainability into curriculum...comments share
The SUNY Empire State College Environmental Sustainability Committee has been working for some time on creating a repository of learning materials about sustainability. This has been a joint effort of over thirty faculty members and personnel of the college. Our belief is that thinking and acting in more sustainable ways is becoming increasingly important both personally and professionally for our students, and that upon graduation some understanding of what sustainability means to their field of study and career will be important for their future success and the health of our planet.
The intent of these learning resources is to provide faculty across all academic topics with ideas and materials to incorporate sustainability into their work with students. The repository is located on the SUNY Learning Commons http://commons.suny.edu/sustainabilityeducation/ Given the growing importance of sustainability, this resource may also be useful to share with students to broaden their thinking by providing more ways to study sustainability either at the course level or in a degree plan.
We anticipate continuing to collect resources for the over thirty academic subtopics and invite anyone who is interested to send information or links of relevant work to Sadie Ross (email@example.com) or Lorraine.Lander (firstname.lastname@example.org).
