The Black Oak Wind Farm cleared its final permitting hurdle last week with unanimous approval from the Enfield Town Board.

The board approved the wind farm’s State Environmental Quality Review, SEQR, which included review of all environmental, social and cultural aspects of the project.

In approving the wind farm’s SEQR, the town board concluded that it had found no significant adverse impacts associated with the project. The town also outlined many mitigation measures the project has or will put in place to protect residents and the environment, a news release said.

Cornell University announced in December that it would purchase all of the power produced by the 12 megawatt wind farm.
