Urban Green Council, the New York affiliate of the U.S. Green Building Council, announced finalists from around the country for the EBieTM Awards. The EBies (EE-bees, short for Existing Buildings) recognize improved environmental performance in existing buildings among building operators, facilities managers, owners, engineers and other professionals who conceived and implemented the work. Mark Howe of Cornell University won in the category of "Power to the People: Exceptional Energy Savings" [for the Kroch Library Energy Conservation Initiative (ECI) Project].
