In the latest annual Princeton Review college rankings book, “The Best 379 Colleges: 2015 Edition,” Cornell took honors in several categories:
- Best campus food: No. 3
- Best college newspaper: No. 3
- Students study the most: 17
- Admissions selectivity rating: 98 (out of 100)
- Quality of life rating: 94 (out of 100)
- Green rating: 99 (the highest possible)
- Percentage of students returning as sophomores: 97
The book says of Cornell: “With so many different colleges within Cornell, there is ‘a plethora of diverse students’ here, but the underlying commonality between all students is ‘ambition and ability.’”
The book quotes: “‘From farm kids and pre-med students to engineers and hotelies, Cornell is home to all sorts of students,’ says one [student surveyed]. ‘You’ll find yourself with a roommate who was on Team USA, a friend who was a firefighter, and a classmate who’s backpacked around the world.’”
The rankings are based on surveys of 130,000 students attending the schools that made the book’s 2013-14 edition and/or the previous two school years.
